Oy! How is everyone doing on this charming Tuesday? I’m pushing through the last few days of tests and projects and more tests for school before break finally begins. I am ready for the break so I can bake cookies, read, and feel festive in peace.
Today I am doing a tag. Thank you to the three lovely bloggers who nominated me for the Outstanding Blogger Award. I was so excited to be nominated for this, as I only started blogging a few months ago. Thank y’all for coming and reading my word soup.

A huge thanks to Cherelle @ Bolt Out Of A Book for the nomination! She has the most aesthetically pleasing blog and always has captivating and genuine posts!
What 3 GIFs would you use to sum up the last book you’ve read? 📖
Most recently I finished A Heart So Fierce and Lonely. I have been reminded why I should not read series that are not fully released. The problem is, I have the patience of a walnut and can not handle it. The suspense is slowly killing me. I need to know what happens next ahhhh
If you woke up in the body of (insert any fictional character ya like) what would you do?
Ahh I’ve been waffling over my answer for days. There are so many characters to chose from so I’m going to be vague and list my criteria. I would wake up in the body of a dagger wielding badass from a super cool magical world. Added bonus if there are pirates or dragons involved. I would spend all of my time exploring and basking in the glory of this characters super cool life.
What is your favourite word? 💬
👀Why did the chicken cross the road? (I’m expecting a creative answer yeah) 🐔
The chicken needed to get away from a stampede of angry chicken nugget lovers. Yep, that’s my final answer.
What is something you will uninvent and why? 🧪
Hmm what would I uninvent?? The best I came up with tests. It would be nice not to have to stress about remembering formulas and oddly specific details about things all the time.
What is the silliest thing you’ve ever done (because of a dare if applicable)? 🤡
*every ridiculous thing I’ve done in my life exits my mind like zippity zap zap*
If everyone was like a food item and had an ingredient label, what would yours contain?
long rambling tangents, overuse of dramatic hand motions, sarcasm, and a healthy dose of musical lyrics
Much thanks to the lovely Rachel @ A Bookworm’s Paradise for the nomination. She is the creator of Character Chat which is a weekly tag asking questions character-related questions. I’m super excited to participate in the upcoming weeks.
What are your other hobbies besides reading?
- SPEECH! I’m on the speech team for school so I spend a lot of my time writing and rehearsing my pieces. I do two humorous events and I love unleashing my inner chaos.
- Baking! Lemon cookies and apple cinnamon rolls are my absolute favorite creations
- Pinteresting! I’m pretty sure sheer amount of time I spend scrolling through Pinterest makes it qualify as a hobby at this point
If you could write a book about ANYTHING, what would you write about? (you’ve to assume people WILL read your book, even if the theme is a little
I want to write a retelling someday. Of what? I honestly have no clue. Maybe a fairytale retelling or a Shakespeare retelling?? Definitely twinges of fantasy as well. And pirates?? All of the above? None of the above?? I don’t know yet *shrug*
Which is a series you could binge-watch forever?
The amount of times I have seen Friends… um, I don’t want to talk about it. I’m pretty sure I could recite most of the lines.
Spell your name out with books that you loved.
A Study In Charlotte by Brittney Cavallaro: one of my favorite mysteries ever, plus a Sherlock Holmes retelling!!
Postcards for a Songbird by Rebekah Crane: Beautifully written
Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: Am I currently rereading this for the third time?? Haha no… not me. *massive tbr glares at me* Ok, fine I am rereading it.
I‘ll Be The One by Lyla Lee: This one just warmed my heart
Lucky Caller by Emma Mills: Whenever I’m in the mood for a light contemporary, Emma Mills is my go to
If you could time travel either to the making of the earth/beginning of life or to the destruction of earth/ending of all life, which one would you choose?
I would probably go to the beginning. Partly because I’m curious and partly because I don’t want to die along with all of life.
What would the name of your autobiography/biography/biopic be?
I’m thinking April Lee: The Queen of Random Conversations and Metaphors. Catchy, right?
Which is your favourite ice cream flavour?
Black raspberry chip. No contest.
Thank you to the lovely Sam @ Literary Delirium for nominating me as well! I love their blogging voice so much, it feels so honest!
What genre of books do you associate winter with ❄️?
I am such a sucker for cheesy Christmas movies and the same goes with books as well. For me, winter is the season of fluff and all around cuteness. I like reading romance and contemporaries during the winter time.
If there’s one scene you could delete in a book, what would it be? 😼
*internal screaming and general indecisiveness*
What fictional character do you think you most probably wouldn’t get along with? 🔪
Sorry in advance to all of y’all who simp for Kaz, but that dude terrifies me. He could easily kill you and it wouldn’t phase him. Plus, he never lets people into the loop and not knowing would drive me insane. We would not be pals.
What is a genre that you’d like to read more of in 2021? 📖
Fantasy. Right now I’m in a major fantasy kick which is a black hole I have not explored since The Great Percy Jackson Obsession of 2017. Fantasy (and a healthy dose of mystery) is the genre that made me fall in love with reading to begin with and going and hitting all of bookstagram’s fantasy faves is reminding me of why I originally fell in love with reading all those years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good contemporary that can make me feel all soft on the inside, but something about magic never fails to dazzle me.
How would you describe your reading year in a gif? 🤩
What is a book that you’d recommend to people that are new to the YA genre? ❤️
It’s hard because recommendations aren’t one shoe fits all (sorry that’s my cheesy Aprilism for today). It really depends on the person and their interests. I will say that the book I’ve recommend most to my non-reader friends is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I have yet to convert them into bookworms, but one day we shall get their *plotting cackle*
Also, Legend by Marie Lu is a quick read that you can’t help falling in love with.
