10 Second Book Reviews // featuring geese

Oy! Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone is having a charmed weekend! My weekend has been pretty uneventful to be honest. I read some books. I went to work. I sat outside and basked in the sun and then complained about it being too hot. You know, same old same old.

I don’t know about you, but I tend to find it harder to review contemporary books than it is to review fantasy or sci-fi. I’m not totally sure why, but I think a large component of that is I review contemporaries mostly based on how it made me feel. I care about the writing, and the voice, and the plot, sure, but at the end of the day I can overlook those things a lot more easily if I simply enjoyed myself when reading.

Combine that with my recent lack of motivation to review, I’ve come up a bit dry. But never fear, I have come up with a quick reviewing solution for some of my most recent reads. May I present to you *insert drumroll* 10 Second Book Reviews where April Reviews Books Using Only Pictures of Geese!

I…

Yeah, I don’t really have an explanation for this one. Enjoy?

We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This is a swoon-worthy romcom that totally blew me away! Earned a 5 star rating and a goose playing harp from me!

Can you feel the excited flap of this goose’s wings?? It’s practically radiating 5/5 star energy!

Birds in general terrify me. Geese are included in that statement. Their flappy-ness and their ability to stare into your soul with their beady little eyes… I just can’t. That being said, on the scale of 1-10 on the Goose-o-fear-meter (where 10 is high pitched opera-screeching that could break glass and 1 is I can admire these fluffy fur balls from a peaceful distance) I would put this image as a 1. And Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating made me feel really happy and soft on the inside because THEY WERE SO CUTE!!!! It also helped that this book included my one of my favourite tropes ever (fake dating, but make it sapphic) 4/5 stars.

By the end of Ace of Spades, my eyes were bugged out in shock, just like this goose. 4/5 stars wow wow wow

*sung to the pillow pet theme song* IS IT A DRAGON?? IS IT A GOOSE? ITS A DRAGON GOOSE! 4/5 stars

Look at that prom-tactic goose! Even though The Sky Blues started out slow, by the end I fell in love with the story and the characters! 4/5 stars

rrrrrrr matey! are you ready to go on a 4/5 star pirate adventure! rrrrrrrr

And with that, I conclude these mini reviews. Umm I’m not really sure how to wrap this up?? Maybe with an obnoxious goose honk?? Yea, I like that. I’m going with it.

*obnoxious goose honk as a goodbye*

Have you read any of these books? What did you think?? What is your favourite goose?
